The Mondo

Had purchased the standard size years ago and Lolly outgrew it. She stretched all the way to the top and needed more and that's why I bought the Mondo. Got the bed on top of it and that bothers her. She has a larger area to grab around but will not stretch too far up. Need to find a place to put it so she can walk into the bed - it's too high for her to jum into it. She's around 13 years old but she loves hugging and scratching it.

Marcel loves his new post so much that he abandoned all other scratching options and also spends most of his lounging time on top on the round bed. I never imagined this would be such a successful product for him. Immediately upon unpacking it he was caressing and scratching and climbing on it like he’d been waiting his whole three year life for this thing. It was a big expense for such a think but it’s more than just a scratching post, it’s his new home within our home and I’m confident our furniture won’t be scratched anymore. Great product!

Only Scratching Post You Will Ever Need

I purchased the Mondo Deluxe for my 2 kitties two years ago because I was tired of buying and throwing away those not-cheap-but-cheaply-made scratching posts from pet stores. Plus, my bigger cat would accidentally topple the smaller posts just by scratching. This one is perfect! You might feel silly at first spending $200 on a scratching post, but you will never need to buy another and will save money in the long run. They scratch, they climb, they sleep.
I see other people saying they didn't replace the post for 5-10 years, so perhaps mine just always scratch in the same spot. After two years, they've scratched away parts of the post (you can see the sisal cord and the bare base beneath) so I have to rotate that side away so that they scratch the other parts. Perhaps mine just always scratch in the same spot - nevertheless, two years is already unheard of compared to all other scratchers I've ever had.
Also -- it's stable, but not that heavy, if you are concerned about moving it.
