The BEST scratching post

10 years ago we purchased the Purrfect Post (31" tall) because our kitten wouldn't use any other scratching post, including one made from a tree. When we opened the box, the kitten went right to it and started clawing it - in the box! ... So now we have a new kitten and she loves the old post, climbs it like a tree and sits on top. But in a few months she'll be too big to comfortably balance on top, so we got Mondo Standard. I took it out of the box and stood it on end while I got the base and ZIP she climbed the new post. (Good thing she weighs only 2 lbs otherwise it might have toppled without the base attached.) I was thinking of putting the posts in separate rooms, but she loves having them side-by-side. She'll leap up and hug the 4 1/2" diameter post near the top and then get down and then climb the 9" diameter. Due to her little size, it was a struggle to climb onto the platform but after a couple hours she knew just what to do. She wants me to put her mouse on the platform so she can climb, get the mouse and bring it back down. She drops it at my feet and waits for me to put it back on the platform so she can climb again... These posts are the best way to burn up "kitten energy" and not get scolded for inappropriate behavior (like curtain climbing or furniture climbing). Kitten is happy. Mom is happy. My cat of 10 years used his post several times every single day. Never had a problem with him scratching furniture. Honestly, I will never purchase another type of scratching post. Purrfect Posts are the BEST. I've seen tall square sisal posts at the pet stores, but I think a cat would prefer to climb something round.

Such a cool looking post! My cats are sooooo happy. Thank you for making such an awesome post. I have never seen anything like it. I think I will have to order more.

The appearance of the product is very attractive! We were excited to receive it and hoped our cat would LOVE it; but she is only attracted to it when we rub some of the catnip on it! We are being patient and hope she will soon find it her new best scratching post!!

Thank you for your comments. Sometimes it can take a little while for cats to take to their new posts. You might try playing with her with a a wand toy and dragging up the post. I find this works great.

After spending a couple of days researching online for a quality scratching post I decided to purchase the Mondo. Yes it is more expensive than other units out there but I am here to tell you you will not regret spending the extra money when you see how well it is built and how much your cat loves it. There are several sisal rope scratching post products on the market. They look nice but the problem is rope is wrapped horizontally. Cats scratch vertically so the sisal fabric on the Mondo post is exactly what your cat needs to satisfy that scratching urge. Don't waste your money on anything else. You can even purchase replacement parts for this post.
